ABOUT
Brittany Stephens, a Port Orchard native, teaches piano lessons at a local private school and provides in-home private instruction in piano and music theory. She is an active member of the Gig Harbor Music Teacher's Association, has taught music history in a local music studio, and enjoys furthering pursuits in musicology, various musical instruments, and foreign languages.
In 2007, Brittany was awarded a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from The Master's College in Santa Clarita, California. In addition to her solo piano studies, she was involved with the music school’s piano ensemble, served as the pianist for the wind ensemble and jazz band, and was consistently requested as an accompanist. Brittany also enjoyed employment as a teacher's assistant and music theory tutor.
Prior to college, Brittany earned the privilege of performing a movement of Ravel's Concerto in G with both the Bainbridge Island and Turtle Bluff orchestras. She competed in the concerto competition and performed a complete program in the Seattle Young Artist's Music Festival several times, and won first place in her region's MTNA senior solo competition. Brittany has been involved with several performing piano ensembles, provided music for her church, and participated in various performances and competitions in her area, including MTNA adjudications, honors recitals, and other community events.
